Instructions
Prepare Caramel:1. Combine ¼ cup of sugar and 2 tablespoons of water in the pot where you will steam the pudding later.2. Heat over low to medium heat without stirring until the sugar caramelizes and sets perfectly. Set aside to cool.
Prepare Pudding Mixture:1. Mix lukewarm water (1.5 cups), ½ cup of sugar, and 1/8 teaspoon of salt in a bowl using a whisk until the sugar and salt mix properly.2. Add 1 cup of powdered milk to the mixture and continue stirring until the milk dissolves.3. Crack in the 4 medium-sized eggs and mix thoroughly.4. Add ½ teaspoon of vanilla essence and mix again until well combined.
Assemble the Pudding:1. After the caramel in the pot has cooled, strain the pudding mixture into the pot.2. Cover the pot with foil paper.
Steam the Pudding:1. Place a stainless steel trivet inside a nonstick dish and pour water into the dish.2. Position the pot on the trivet.3. Steam the pudding mix on low heat for 30 minutes.
Check for Doneness:1. After 30 minutes, open the foil paper and insert a stick into the pudding. If the stick comes out clean without any batter sticking to it, the pudding is properly steamed. 2. If not, steam for a few more minutes until done.
Cooling:1. Once the pudding is cooked thoroughly, let it cool down.
